SRS light on after RSX-S seats swapped...
Hi everyone
I had RSX-S leather seats with airbags swapped and everything was connected properly. However, the SRS light came on and of course I followed the steps from DIY section. The light blinked twice, then goes off for 3 seconds, and then comes on again no matter how many times I did it. I'm 100% sure that I did the steps right since it worked out on my girlfriend's ride but not mine. I also tried to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and then put it back on but still....I know Honda dealer wouldn't help me for sure, and they are going to charge me a lot even if they could find out what the problem is since it is no longer under warranty...This is a different problem from just reseting the SRS light since the steps did not help at all... I hope someone can help me out, and I would really appreciate for any advice. THANKS A LOT!

Is it possible that one of the sensors are bad in the seats? I had airbags in my stock seats and both of the sensors went bad. The dealer replaced one sensor, reset the light, and the next morning the light was on again, because the other seat had a bad sensor too.
check the fuse in the fuse box or the airbag sensor. Also the sir bag light or srs light in your dash will stay on if you have a dead battery. the dealer will charge you like forty bucks to diagnos it

Thanks guys! My SRS light sensor was a defect so I had dealer changed to a new one a long time ago. The yellow plug was connected right after the DIY so it shouldn't be the main problem that caused the SRS light on...I might had blown the fuse for it? Could anyone specify which one the SRS light fuse is and where can I get a replacement? Also let me know how to check if the fuse is bad since I don't know how...-__- THANKS AGAIN!

lilasiian has the same issue. The SRS light comes on because the rsx seats have side airbags and your stock civic seats probably didn't, right?
Ignore it.
Ignore it.
Found this posted in some forum. Tried it, it worked, it saved me at least a quoted $90 diagnostic. In combing many forums, it looks like many people were bent over the barrel by Honda on this one... you can't f'n trust even your friendly neighborhood Honda dealer!
Problem : SRS light on Honda (Civic, Odyssey, Accord) won't turn off.
Cause : cables underneath seats were disconnected, SRS fuse was removed/replaced (new stereo, alarm, car-starter install)
Solution : Reset the SRS funtion:
1- look underneath dash, near fusebox, for a 2-wire yellow plug, disconnect it and pull it down so you can work with it
2- turn ignition OFF
3- jumper the 2 wires together (cut paperclip in half and straighten, insert one end of both halves into back end of plug where each wire goes in, touch them together and hold)
4- turn ignition ON (SRS light will turn on for 6 seconds, then turn off)
5- within 4 seconds of SRS light turning off, unjumper the 2 wires (SRS light will turn ON)
6- within 4 seconds of SRS light turning on, jumper the 2 wires (SRS light will turn OFF)
7- within 4 seconds of SRS light turning off, jumper the 2 wires (SRS light will blink ON and OFF, indicating SRS function is reset)

Thanks Darek, but it did not work out to my coupe somehow even though I tried 10+ times already...-__- I guess I have to change some fuse and stuffs since the battery wasn't disconnected while I was installing the seats...Anyone have an idea of how to do it? Thanks.
SRS light (more)
I didn't have my battery connected either when I did my seats... do this:
Check your fuse under the hood (dig out your manual if the fuses aren't marked on the actual fusebox) for "SRS"... heck- if that's fried, that's the problem!
Also, does the SRS light turn on, then turn off, then turn on, etc when you're doing the jumpering/unjumpering? If it is, just watch the SRS light during the process... when you see the SRS light blink 2 or 3 times, you're home free. Just turn your ignition off for at least 10 seconds (I don't think I put that in... sorry) and then start car to try.
I had a hard time trying wedge my f'n body under the dash/steering column, then contort my arm up to the ignition, then pinch 2 paperclip shafts together and hold 'em, then let 'em go, then hold 'em... it sucked! Plus, I was in my dress clothes for work, it was about 95% humidity out, about 80° at 7:00 a.m... it was a joke.
Also, I read (probably in the same post) that a dead/weak battery may cause the SRS light to stay on.
That help? We'll get it!

Hmmm....then I guess there is nothing else I can do except having ppl from dealership taking care of my issue...-__- I'll ask my friend who is the fleat manager of McHarvey's Honda dealer and see if he can hook me up with it. Thanks man.
U HAVE TO REINTIALIZE YOUR OPDS UNIT...AND THEY ONLY WAY TO DO THAT IS WITH A PGM TESTER AND OPDS PROBE...AND THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT HAVE THAT IS THE DEALERSHIP...
WHY would I need a clown to reset the OPDS unit?
