Question What is the voltage range of..

I was thinking of starting a project but I need to find something out first. The Temp and Fual guages in the cluster...I hear that they are reading voltages. So my question is, anyone know what voltage range they have? Is it like 0 - 12V or is it 0 - 8V. Anyone know?

Any help would be helpful. Even if someone could tell me where to get that info.

they don't read voltage. they read the resistance from the sender.

if you really want the voltage for it...its like around 0.8V - 1.1V....I asked around for why that happened, but no one seems to know. I tested the voltage at the wire where it connects to the bulb. For some reason when i put in a 11.7V wire to the bulb, nothing happened (bulb didn't light up), but then with a 12V wire (from battery) the bulb lighted, but noticeably dimmer than when it got the 1.1V...

So they read resitance NOT voltag huh? Ok, so what resistance range is it then? I have no idea without some technical documentation...Was hoping someone would have the specific info.

The fuel tank sender has a float inside the tank. As it moves according to fuel level, it moves a rod that varies a resistance of 11 ohms (full) to 130 ohms (empty). The wires are located in the fuel tank access under the rear seat. One wire is the ground, pin 1, black wire. Thus the gauge is measure a resistance to ground. The gauge sender wire is pin 2, yellow/black.

The electric coolant temperature sender connects directly to the ecu, then to the gauge, so there is not a direct connection that is recommended.
