Question Exhaust Hitting Sway Bar, How To Fix????

Hey everyone, today I brought my car into honda to get some warranty stuff done to it. When I went there, I told them that al slow speeds, going over bumps and turning corners, my suspension squeaks. It sounds like a trampoline. Well when I went to pick up my car, they told me that it was my exhaust hitting my suspension, my sway bar to be more specific. I have an OBX B3 Bomb Cat-back exhaust. It is really annoying having my car squeak all the time. I can't raise my exhaust anymore or it will touch my rear bumper and make an even worse rattling noise. Is there anyway to fix this problem? Id really appreciate you all's help.

have a shop bend the exhaust hangers so they sit higher

i had the same exhaust system you have, and never had this issue, but bending the hangers is the best and first thing to try

try to bend them your self

Be careful if they adjust the hangers that the tip isn't too close to your bumper.

I fixed the problem on my car by selling the exhaust and keeping the sway bar.

Ok, when I originally got my OBX system, the brackets were too small so basically the exhaust was flush with my rear bumper. I got the brackets bent out a little so my exhaust wouldn't make contact with my bumper, which when making contact, started melting my bumper slowly. If I take it into Meinke, is there anything specifically I should ask them to do? Or better yet, how far away should the piping be away from my sway bar to prevent both from making contact?

At least a half inch if you have the space to do it. I solved my problem when I still had the exhaust by getting some foil-covered foam tape (I believe for plumbing). I wrapped the portion of the sway bar that was hitting with it, and I wrapped one turn around the exhaust. Took care of it without a problem, and seemed to hold up in the rain pretty well.

You could also decrease the pipe size. That might buy you a little clearance between the exhaust and the sway bar.
