Whats the best motor for a 96 civic?
I have a 96 civic and want to replace the motor. There are so many different options on motors that I am confused. I would like some input/opinions on what would be the best motor to replace my motor with. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!!
Re: Whats the best motor for a 96 civic?
b16a2 or b18c1 would be a good swap or if you have the money k20a2 swap or k24 swap if you have the money. also you could do frankenstein swaps or hybrid swaps as some people call them. basically its just a b16 head with with b18b1 block (ls vtec). or b18c1 head with b20 block (b20vtec) or k20 head with k24 block. yea there is a lot of options when thinking about an engine swap. but b16a2 would be my choice if i had a 96 civic or if i had the money i would get a k20a2 swap.

Thanks for all that information. Its going to be a slow build but what I want is a good motor that I can rebuild as far as getting new pistons, crank, ect. So what would be a good option for a motor that I can still rebuild completely? And what company would you recommend as far as parts?
