Civic CX 98 power loss
Hello everyone,
My Civic 98 (manual gearbox, 150,000 miles, Canadian car) is loosing power while in 5th gear on the highway. Most often in a small hill, with constant throttle setting, the speed is decreasing and the engine begins to knock lightly. I have to downshift or floor the throttle to get it to produce power again. And the power comes back all at once.
No check engine light to give info on the trouble…
It happened once at a stop light, resulting in a sudden acceleration when the power came back on. A bit dangerous. I would appreciate any advice on that one!
Thank you very much for your help!

Re: Civic CX 98 power loss
Thanks for the answer! I got the car to a Honda dealer and they said the throttle body had to be replaced. 800$. They said it was pretty unusual. I’m wondering if that will solve the problem… Is anyone has had word of a similar problem?
Thank for your help!
