99 Civic EX keyless entry fob not working
My key fob for my 99 Civic EX stopped working a few months ago. I replaced the battery, not realizing that I put a Duracell DL2025 battery in it instead of a CR2025. Same size, but the key fob did not work still. I have finally re-replaced it with the correct batter, CR2025, but the fob still does not work.
I have found directions for how to reset the keyless entry codes, but the light on the key fob does not even come on anymore. I am not sure why not, I checked, adjusted, and cleaned the battery contacts too.
Hope this is not a

Re: 99 Civic EX keyless entry fob not working
well if you opened it up and cleaned all the contacts, and still wont work, it prolly just broke. did you clean the button contacts too where they touch the board? use alcohol and clean everything inside.

I cleaned the battery contacts; I did not clean the button contacts on the board. I wasn't sure how to safely open the key fob without destroying the device - any recommendations?
