How to deal with weak low end?
How to deal with weak low end?
Hallo! As my post count currently indicates, I'm a new member,
and I have a new Honda Civic. Ok, new in an over a decade old sort of way.
A 97 1.5 lSi, what the US equivalent is (possibly a 1.5 LSi) is, I have no idea. I'm very pleased with my car. its nice, clean, fairly dent free, and was nice and cheap. Its been well looked after and will hopefully last a while.
However, whilst I am currently rather keen on my car, it does have one little problem. Bugger all low end torque.
Now. I have heard that this is not uncommon, and that Civics aren't too keen in low gear, but, I swear, Its appalling.
Does anyone have any fairly straightforward suggestions to give this motor a bit more "oomph"? I don't need to thrash it, and I have no real tendency to drive like a lunatic. I'd just like it have a bit of take off when I'm moving off.
Cheerz.

drop in a b20 engine for a b18b engine. All can be found for around $1000 or less.
Since your driving a european civic, i'll assume your driving manual.

ALL YOU NEED IS: Get lightweight wheels for your car, like the 15" Rota Slipstreams each weight 11.9lbs. each. And then add some falken tires to it. Your acceleration will be a lot faster.
