Pizza Delivery
Pizza Delivery
Is Pizza Delivery bad for our cars? Per shift, I have to start my car at least 30x a day. It's Hot, stop and go, stop and go driving. Will this make my car slower? Is this safe for the car that has 110k miles? How will it affect my beautiful car long term wise?

Re: Pizza Delivery
not too bad, but why are you starting.stopping so many times, just lock your doors with the key in if youre only leaving it for a few mins. and get on the freeway to get the motor going. the only bad thing i forsee is fouling spark plugs quicker cause the engine doesnt get warm enough in stop and go traffic.

Re: Pizza Delivery
not good in general. you're putting the worst kind of mileage on your car: around town stop 'n go mileage. the miles rack up quick, as well. the car over and over is not exactly great... i mean, common sense says the more you use something, the quicker it will wear out. good idea to stay up on maintenance and services
Re: Pizza Delivery
i used to deliver the **** thats going to happen to your car for example would be deffently a starter from statring it alot maybe some belts more oil changes my tranny started going.. good luck
Re: Pizza Delivery
If you leave the key in your car while it's running, your insurance company is going to throw a fit. And if someone takes your car in such a circumstance, your insurance company won't pay out.
Re: Pizza Delivery
If you have an automatic trans, I'd suggest doing fluid changes (not flushes) at about 1/2 the normal maintenance interval. Manual trans I'd suggest Redline MTL or BG SuperSlick II manual trans lubes.
Synthetic oil and an AMSOIL or Mobil-1 filter are also things you should look into. As gearbox said, spark plug fouling is a problem so check them every month or two.

Re: Pizza Delivery
im a delivery driver as well, i prolly put about 200-300 miles a week on my car, and yea i highly recommend you change oil regularly, and definitely use synthetic oil.....havent had any major problems with my car since i started working delivery almost a year ago....
Re: Pizza Delivery
when I start the car now, the backpressure is not as strong and neither is the ignition pick up. Is this because I start the car like 30x per shift? How can I make the backpressure of the car stronger, like in a Truck.?
Re: Pizza Delivery
But this can't be healthy for the car. Frequent start-ups, stop and go drive, stop over every speed bump causing friction on pistons and all engine parts, braking and going, idleing at lights. What can I do to restore compression? Does that product on the side banner realli work to Restore the Compression?
Re: Pizza Delivery
i dont worship honda, and that's why it has become the ONLY car i rely on................ and the icon happens to be there because i love that show. there are way too many people with simpsons out there.

The best solution i find to restore your compression, if nothing has blown out, switch your oil to synthetic if you havent yet, and throw a little bit of octane booster into your tank @ next fill. the carbon deposits in the cylinders can cause a loss of compression, and so can unoiled rings.
As for the unheathyness of stop and go driving, yes, your car will wear out much faster, but only if it's not well maintained. Keep a tight maintenance record of the car, where your oil changes are at, belt checks, inspections, and you'll be just fine.
