Scratches on Interior Plastic
My '07 interior plastic (dashboard, door panels, seat belt panels) scratches very easily, and I can't get the scratches out. Any one else run into this? Ideas? Recommendations?
Re: Scratches on Interior Plastic
Ya I have the same problem. In fact my car came from the dealer with scratches on the door pannel. As far as i know there isnt anything that can be done. I havent had any scratches anywhere else other than the door pannel.
Actually since you are experiencing a similar problem, do you have any issues with there being a rattle in the head liner. I have the EX sedan and there is some rattle near the sunroof.

Re: Scratches on Interior Plastic
Thanks, JD. I read on the Edmunds.com site, in Civic reviews, that the plastic used by Honda in their civics tend to scratch easily. But nothing was said about how to get them out. Usually, a little 'Armour All' will fill in/hide scratches, but not so with the civic.
I'm going to visit a car detail shop to see what they would do to fill in/hide the scratches. I'll let you know what I find out.

Re: Scratches on Interior Plastic
Hi JD!
Finally visited an upscale auto detail service today - showed them the scratches on the plastic around the door panels & dashboard. They tried one of their formulas for filling in the scratches, but to no avail. They concluded what I suspected - that Honda is using poor quality plastic in the interiors of their cars now.
I'm in my 50s, and have had 22+ cars over the years, and NEVER have I had a car where I couldn't rub out, or fill-in the surface scratches on the interior plastic.
If you learn of anything that would help, please let me know!
Thanks :-)
