in dash tach
in dash tach
hi, i just bought an 04 civic and i am upset about the gauge setup. there are two big places for gauges to go and two small ones on either side. one of the big gauges has the speedo and the other spot, where the tach should be, has engine temp and fuel level, while the two smaller spots off to the side are empty. could i relocate my engine temp and fuel level to the smaller spots and install an in dash tach in the spot next to the speedo, or would i have to replace the entire cluster? if i must replace the cluster, what kind should i get or would work, and where could i get it. and i don't want an external tach or anything like that.
i would just say replace the cluster... i don't have any idea where to look because i was planning on ripping mine out and placing externals... but in your case it's a newer car and would probably look good with a new cluster

This reminds me of a project I wanted to do--> instal an aftermarket tach in place of where the current tach is (to the left of the spedo). Anyways though, you prob have a DX, replace it with a LX or EX of the same year (you can use 04 or 05 clusters). If you want to match the milage up, you'll have to get somebody to change the milage on it, but that should probably be pretty hard because no1 wants to help someone commit fraud (they dont know what your doing with it). Anyways, There are a bunch of threads on this topic, check em out. I think there was even a DIY at some point. Good luck
