I have a 2005 Civic LX with 110,000 miles. Suggestions on replacement Automatic Transmission Fluid for it? I am reading that Honda does not sell the Z1 fluid anymore. What is a viable replacement? Thanks.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: Reccomended ATF??
DW-1 is Hondas official replacement for Z-1.
That's all we have available now at the dealer.

I've been running Total G3 for 2 months
and I probably push the N/A auto trans as hard/harder as/then any other auto user. I'd guess the boosted auto's take more abuse though. I use overdrive D2 and D3 at least twice a week, on hour long drives and usually drive to the rev limit 3 days a week.
So far so good =D

Re: Reccomended ATF??
You can use the "genuine Honda automatic transmission fluid DW-1 or ATF-Z1" but if you find a transmission fluid that says you can use it in Honda automatic transmissions requiring ATF-Z1 or DW-1 then its fine. I use castrol transmax multi-vehicle for Honda and other imports. To be honest my transmission shifts just like it did when I had the genuine Honda stuff. I see nor feel a difference in shifting. And its 3 dollars cheaper for the castrol transmax. But in the end its your car man, which means its your choice.
