Question ODOMETER: Flashing negative miles.

I just bought a 2007 Honda Civic LX about a week ago.
Recently, my service engine light came on, and on my odometer, it flashes negative miles to the right side.
The flashing negative miles aren't my total mileage, though.
My oil had been changed just before I bought it, and I just put more in yesterday, so I don't think it's that.
I can't find my owner's manual, so I thought I'd try here.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Re: ODOMETER: Flashing negative miles.

Negative miles (I think) are the computer saying that's how many miles ago you should have changed the oil. Chances are when the oil was changed, the oil life meter was not reset. Your manual should have instructions to do that, so that would be a good place to start. This happened with my mom's 06 EX also.

Good luck!

hey start the car the little button that changes through the odometer trip a and trip b. put it on the negative miles, then hold that button in till the whole thing starts to blink,, let go of the button for a sec then re hold it till the oil life returns to 100%. if you cant get it post back. but i do it every day it will work
