Okay.... had to clean that mess up. People, please refrain from calling each other names. IF you have a problem with a member just PM a mod, and we'll take care of it.

civydcex, you are welcome to your opinion, and it is exactly that, an opinion. Others may or may not like it, it's part of life Many people disagree with me, I just move on. Just don't get so mad when people challenge it, you can pretty much just about anybody up on here with facts to back you.

CTX66, you're pretty smart in the area of oil, but please refrain from calling people profane names, it could help in keeping things a little nicer around here.

Overall, I'm somewhat disappointed nobody has shown any proof of their opinions so far though, facts are what shut people up.

Sorry bro, i'll clean it up. I buy the mobil 1 filter, and figured it was a good match for the oil.
My opinions will no longer be made, to prevent this stuff from happening again. Blown way out of proportion!!

Well, it's your choice to voice your opinion. I'm here to makes sure this crap doesn't happen, and you are more than welcome to voice your opinion, we encourage it. If you have a problem with someone, we (the mods) ask that you tell us instead of taking matters into your own hands.... that all.

normally id say all filter are the same, but then i saw what the fram looked like and decided that wasnt true. but so long as it has anti-drain back and good seals, it should be fine. but realize there are a few bad filters out there. otherwise use whatever brand makes you happy and same for oil. i dont think the engine will last any longer using mobil1 vs using some generic gas station oil.

Yup I'm pretty sure most Honda's die because of accidents are the rest of the car lets out. the engine is not my biggest concern in a Honda for sure.

Purolator PL14610 and Castrol Syntec 5W-30. Change interval every 6K miles.

I used to use Fram Filters until I started reading the oil guy forums and now I won't touch them with a 10 foot pole.

Well, take a look at this then....

The difference in quality Fram OEM vs Filtech OEM is striking. The Fram is total cheapness with less filter media and cardboard end caps. You really want that in your engine? Not me.

I've been on bitog for 2.5 years and the general consensus i've seen over there isn't that a fram filters are bad.. It's just that your paying too much for a mediocre product. You can get a much better filter for the money. Some have claimed adbv failure, but that can happen with any filter. Although fram's adbv's are freakin paper thin.. but meh, its just a cheap filter overall.

AMSOIL ..... AMSOIL is the best stuff out there IMO.... it cost alitte more but from what I've read there products are better than anything out there I use 0w-30 synthetic...with an amsoil filter....works great for me...

I've been using Purolator filters. They are pretty cheap and work well.

In my SHO, I've used Mobil 1 and AMSOIL.
