atf-z1=RIP?

One thing I've learned after TWO tranny failures in my '01 Civic is to use atf-z1 AT ALL COSTS!!! NE-ver, EV-er, under any circumstances, use anything but! I change it religiously with this stuff at 25k.

But now my dealer doesn't carry this brew with its mystical properties anymore. It's atf-dw1?

Is there a techy who can tell me yeah, for sure, atf-dw1 is the stuff to use?

It supersedes Z1. And yes it is gone. I had plans to get some for the 05 but was too late. Will have to use the DW-1.

I got my 2010s 1st drain and refill yesterday at 25k miles using DW-1.

Re: atf-z1=RIP?

there are still cases being sold on ebay of the z1 for a reasonable price. otherwise yes honda put out a bulletin replacing z1 with dw1. i personally would be careful using dw1 in an older trans. ofcourse the 01-05 is very prone to mechanical failure even with the z1, so its luck of the draw i guess.
