DIY: SRS Codes and reading them

While searching around on how to figure out why my SRS light was going on and off I found this site. Great information on how to manually read the SRS codes! So you don't have to give your money to the dealership!

DIY: SRS Codes and reading them

Thanks to R3dline from ClubRSX.com

Everything is the same except our OBDII port is rotated 180 degrees and will look like this,

I tried to search to see if someone has already posted, so sorry if it's a repost.

If you have a srs code and your airbag light is on. Go to this site Cartipsntricks.com , if u have a faulty airbag, and your light is on, this site explains how to fix your airbag issue with a resistor and also how to reset your SRS/Airbag light.

Re: DIY: SRS Codes and reading them

Usually this driver side air bag light ON problem is due to driver side seat belt switch, My driver side seat belt buckle goes on and off as it should,( I can watch the light go on and off on the dash board), could there be another sensor inside the buckle which sends signal to the computer? Also is this connector pin configuration and orientation good for Honda Civic 2003? Can you get the DTC code by the OBD scanner?

Re: DIY: SRS Codes and reading them

You can hook up an OBD scanner to check if there is stored DTC. if yes, erase the DTC and follow scanner prompts
