Airbag Dash Light on-Why?

I have a 2005 Honda Civic LX , 4dr. The dash airbag light has come on constantly and won't go off. I have had a scan run on the car and was told that there was no active codes being shown.

Any ideas on what can be the problem and what I can try to figure this one out? Thanks!

There's a problem.

I have had a scan run on the car and was told that there was no active codes being shown.
Who, where, and how was such a "scan" performed on the airbag system??
HINT #1: Parts stores can't.

Hint #2, if there TRULY are NO SRS codes, there's at least 2 other possibilities that turn on the light. You shouldn't need this info though.

Any ideas on what can be the problem and what I can try to figure this one out? Thanks!
Solve the problem, obviously.

Step 1, read the code(s)

Step2, solve for step 1. (LOL, sounds like Algebra)
Report back with your codes if the above link doesn't help

Re: Airbag Dash Light on-Why?

Are you sure you got the SRS scanned?
OBD2 does not show SRS codes.
Use the link aforementioned to pull the SRS code.

Most likely, it's a typical 9-3 code, for seatbelt sensor.

Re: Airbag Dash Light on-Why?

OBD 2 does read airbag, the denotation (On Board Diagnostics Gen 2) reads the SRS system, just the typical scanner doesn't read it. Either has to be a dedicated SRS scan tool or a good scan tool, NOT a "code reader". The 9-3 is common on these cars. You can read it by ezone's link, and if it is the fix is easily found on an internet search.
