Dim headlights

Okay so. I've got an 02 coupe and my headlights are REALLY really dim. The housings are kind of cloudy so I bought the 3m clearing kit, however I'm thinking of upgrading the bulbs as well.

Does anybody have any reccomendations for reasonably priced, good quality, WHITE (no blue tints) bulbs that will help improve my night vision without looking like a huge asshat blinding other drivers?

I live in Canada so any stores linked to should ship here if possible.

Thanks.

Re: Dim headlights

If you're talking HID (which i wouldn't recommend putting in stock housing), then get 4300k or 5000k temp. Thats like pure white.

If you're talking halogen, i'm not 100% sure, i've heard good and bad things about sylvania silverstar ultras. They're bright, and white. But apparently they burn out quicker than normal, and they're pretty expensive. You can buy them at Canadian Tire for like $60 a pair. I've also heard good things about GE Nighthawks.

But i'd wait till more experienced people on this site reply

www.powerbulbs.com philips XP bulbs (H4) are reasonably priced and pure white with no blue tint. big upgrade from stock both in brightness and whiteness. no rice. and it lasts as long as regular bulb.

If your looking for a straight halogen replacement bulb, Philips XP Xtreme Power are the best brightest bulbs available.

I'd pay that if there was a noticeable improvement over the XP and I didn't want to put in HIDs. Lots of people don't want to go to the expense of Morimotos, but also don't want an illegal set-up that blinds everyone.

Re: Dim headlights

you would get a much better gain with the catz zeta ballasts using the stock H4 bulb and those only cost $50 a pair on ebay and last the life of the car. all you have to do is buy the regular H4 bulbs which usually go for $10-15 a pair. you get close to 2000 lumens from the stock bulb.
