Bi-Xenon Solenoid Wiring
Just got a quick question.. Been searching around a bit, and I wanna get all my information straightened out before I attempt a bi-xenon retro on my sister's 2010 Fit Sport.
So, on bi-xenon projectors, the bi-xenon solenoid is triggered by a +12VDC signal (high-beam actvation), right?
So... if you're so willing to decipher an electrical diagram, would this work? or is the extra relay to drop the shield excessive, and I could get away with just tapping the shared +12VDC and routing the solenoid ground through the high beam ground, with the diode installed between the high and low beam grounds?

Re: Bi-Xenon Solenoid Wiring
solenoids are very low voltage, just tap directly to the hi beam wiring. you can even tap it if the car had separate hi beams, it uses almost nothing to engage.

Re: Bi-Xenon Solenoid Wiring
cool, cool. Wasn't too sure. I am going to be using an old pair of TYC H4 harnesses, so I'll just connect it directly. Thanks

Re: Bi-Xenon Solenoid Wiring

For semantic's sake, do I have the diode "installed" backwards in the diagram?

Re: Bi-Xenon Solenoid Wiring
ive never had to use a diode with my wiring, so i wouldnt know. but if it doesnt work, simply reverse the diode. power only flows in one direction thru it.

Re: Bi-Xenon Solenoid Wiring
I know. It was just for semantics anyways.
I get bored, make wiring schematics for stuff I'm gonna do/have done.. Just wanna make sure it's functionally correct per the drawing.
I asked my EE major friend and she said she doesn't see anything wrong with it
