Both work and the girl-friend (2 years) are about 20 miles away. I drive back a forth a few times a day. It sucks to, cause I am riding on the stock struts and they're getting pretty bad. I can feel the wheels bouncing off the road over bumps. I hate the roads here.
I was going to buy some KYB GR-2 struts this week but I just got home from BestBuy. Bought the lady a iPod video for the heck of it. So those will have to wait til next week. My poor car has been through hell. 2 bad accidents (should have been totaled between the two adding upto about $9,200 in work). Messed up alignment from body shop which screwed my tires up (never reimbursed for new). Cracked exhaust manifold that stinks up the heater. Rebuilt the 5spd. There is alot more, but this isn't the right thread, so I'll stop now. LOL

i thought the power is the spade terminal and the ground is the base of the bulb. I know cause when I had it plugged in and trying to stick it in the hole, it kept touching the chassis and lighting up.

Re: DIY LED Gauge Cluster II
Hello there, your post is very helpful and good and very much appreciated. May I ask... My honda civic is 2005 model VTI-S, dimension body with led illumination already. It was flooded all the way up to the dashboard...(sigh) when i have started it after some repairs and parts replacement, the RPM in no longer illuminated, only the KPH and FUEL/TEMP gauge are lighted. My question is "How to remove the needle in order for me to replace the LED inside" will it be the same that I only have to pull the needle up? I have tried to pull it up but it's very tight ang I was afraid that I might broke it or I can never return it.
Please help...
Thank you very much in advance.

Re: DIY LED Gauge Cluster II
the newer clusters will break if you try to dismantle it by pulling the needles out. the only option is look for another replacement part. do you have a pic of your cluster?
Re: DIY LED Gauge Cluster II
Hello, I don't have pictures but it's the same model civic 01-05 7th gen. Only that it is already LED lighted. Please help me on how to open the gauge at the front and replace the led's. I can not afford to buy a new gauge bec I have already drained my pocket with some parts like ecu, airbags, fuse box, etc. I want to repair my gauge.
thanks

Re: DIY LED Gauge Cluster II
yeah those are the ones that cannot be opened. i tried once on a spare, and the needles would not go back in. the fuel and temp were very loose and would not work at all, the tach and speedo went back in but would not read properly and were jumpy. so it wont work taking it apart. and even if you do, you need special SMT (surface mount) leds which are very small and expensive. i have seen those clusters on ebay for $50-65 shipped. i dont think thats too expensive, it might be hard finding one with similar mileage but just take a look. you can try opening it for fun, but like i said it will be useless once you try and reassemble it.
Re: DIY LED Gauge Cluster II
Wow 3 years. So let me get this right. I put the bulbs in with the sleeves and sand the needles down, then apply glass paint to the needles, and i'm done?
Please explain any steps i missed. Thanks. Nobody will probably answer but i tried.
