OEM replica fog lights
i couldnt find to much info on the replica OEM fog lights from robear racing . anyone have these? i heard a lot of people complaing about their lens cracking and breaking so i dont know if i want to spend $200+ for oem ones. are they as bright as the oem ones and do they also break easy? and do you have to wire them to come on with the parking lights, i would like mine to have their own switch so i dont always have them on, that possible?

They are basically the same. Jump on aim and I'll send you a pdf of someone's install of the replica fogs on tornactive. I got true oem so the dealer would install. Also stuck some 20mil lamin-x over the lens, so I doubt they would crack anytime soon.
Aggressive Adam bought some replicas and they cracked real soon after they were installed.

Maybe contact him and find out which ones he got and go for a stronger replica. Best of luck

yupp, they cracked first day. I dunno I was really upset at first since I was gonna load HID's in there but the cracks dont seem to be lettin in enough water to damage the halogen bulbs, I cant see the cracks when the lights are on, and when the lights are off if you relaly look for em you will find em.
I suggest you buy the oem replicas, and pm telly to make you some new lenses. I think im going to do that to mine I just need to get an extra set of housings.
I dont know how much stronger acually oem ones would be. Its glass. I bett there probably better then the ebay ones, thats where I got mine, paid $130 including cdn duties. Take the extra 100 you save and have someone craft you some real lenses.
the fogs themselvs are really helpful, I got HID H4's and these provide excellent contrast and lower / side light. and they look sweet. not like those crappy cdn tire universal fit

No. I had mine installed and I literally can't tell if they're on in my normal sitting position. I have racing seats that are slightly lower and more reclined than stock, so I have to actually bend over the dash to see them. It's only an area of two feet directly from the bumper. So useless, and I hate the way they look compared to hid. I ordered some true ion yellow bulbs so at least it will look cool. I got these tho to see better in rain. Maybe the dealer aimed too low?

i want to see farther in plain dark weather, no rain, no fog. would driving lights be better than fogs then since they cast a farther beam of light (like in the picture)?

I would think so. But how are they different? Maybe you can aim the fogs higher? My stocks have some kind of shield around the bulbs as well, which I don't know why. Impulse said his didn't have em. And that pic up there for fogs is way off for these. It's maybe two feet from the front bumper out. Like nothing.
your right, you can only really see them if you look over your steering wheel, but what I have noticed is that there used to be a gap between my bumper and my headlights, that gap is now filled, so im happy. Going to do that yellow lexan cover replacment through Impulse, fogs are good to have, looks a bit more aggressive, love how they blink when I remote start my car.
Also there good to act as Daytime Running Lights, having HID's i pulled my DTR fuse, since everyone around here is used to cars having some sort of light even in the day I like to keep the fogs on so no moron thinks im a parked car

guys you need to look for projector fog lights having a great cut off line, but not stock halogen foggies.Sometimes I drive even without headlights on, just use only foggies.
