HID Pic post!!
I have one question about HID headlights.
What parts do I need to change if I want to have HID?
Do I need to change my OEM headlights? If not, do I need to cut reflector in order to fit HID bulbs in? Shouldn't it be a lens inside the headlight for a HID?

Looks sexy infinite...I love them. I wish mine were straight like that, I think i'm going to send the headlights out to get fixed...seeing as how I did aim the lights right. I dunno why but I think one of the projectors has a lot of color while the other doesn't. But hopefully this guy can fix it. BTW what kinda housing are u using?

s2000 retrofit is very difficult because the s2k projectors dont have a very retro friendly design. i would suggest either TL or TSX projectors
well i finally got some projectors to show off. got em from alpjlfan. they are retrofited with valeo projector w/ hella ballast and d2s 4100k bulbs. still need some adjust to the height of the beam so bear with some of the pics also the pics that are aimed at the garage is taken on a hill. here are the pics taken by my camera phone, will update my post with some better pics when i get the chance:
1st shot of the beam pattern:

2nd beam pattern up closer:

Tried to get a pic of the beam next to a car:

Me trying to take a pic of a down the road shot:

2nd try(sorta can make out how far the beam goes:

last but not least beam shot inside car:

once i get a free time im gonna try again and this time im gonna aim my headlights correctly.

So here's my story of the day...
Yesterday was a long day for me. 8 hours of moving at work, followed by 3 hours of killing time, followed by 3 hours of school. Not at all a fun day. But what was on my desk waiting for me when I got home? That's right, the mailman had delivered me a surprise package today!!

But what could be in the boxes? Muffins? High explosives?? It was anybody's guess.

No it was not a situation for the bomb squad or an unfortunate case of stale baked goods, it was my Xtec 5000k HID kit, purchased from a member of this board for a killer price!!

I couldn't contain my excitement! After a week of waiting it had finally arrived!

But when would they get installed? I am certainly way too tired and busy after work to do it, they are almost destined to sit on the shelf collecting dust for weeks. HARDLY THE CASE! Almost immediately after work today the install started. First I mounted the passenger side ballast:

Followed by the driver side ballast:

Then went in the passenger side bulb. I made sure to rub my hands all over the bulb itself in order to lubricate it for easy installation.

I wasn't sure that my hands provided sufficient lubrication, so prior to installing the driver side bulb, I stuck it in my mouth for about 10 seconds. Better safe than sorry I always say.

Success! I prove I am not a buffoon as everybody I encounter in life tells me!

I was so erect from my new HID kit that I decided to beat my dog in the head with a lacrosse stick
.
And thus concludes MegaHurtz's Big HID Adventure!

I will have to find some tsx's or veleo's off audi later on.
ser02rav4 - That impresses me that you fit Hella bi-xenons into TYC housings. I'd love to see rear and installation pictures if you have them. I've got both those components, hella bi-xenons and a set of TYC lights but never saw that as a reasonable option. Headlights = too small , projectors = large.
This is what I've been using for a long time now. Hella bi-xenons in OEM lights. Behind them are Philips 4100k D2S and older Gen3 Philiips ballasts. I've also had S2000's in TYC lights, but as many people have done, I didn't finish the install properly. I was unhappy with the rotational aim, and couldn't fix it because my install was not done right.
By now, the newness of the car has worn off and I'm not feeling like buying anymore lights for it. What I have is not the best, but it's still pretty darn good and gets the job done with ease. Next car will be taken a lot slower, with the best projectors I can get, done as best as I can possibly do. Live and learn, right?
I have some in-car driving videos of the Hella projectors if anyone really wants to see what it looks like from inside. I did it originally for the HIDplanet people who seem to enjoy that sort of thing.
