im replacing the driver side with another valeo this week. no color and getting hotspots. guessing that the reflector bowl is messed up. will post pics again

that's really bad....could you tell us what kit that is? look at the glare! you're facing downhill but you're lighting up at least 1/2 of the house in front of you.

i've noticed with most kits on 01-03 since the headlights are meant for HI-LO apllications using H4 bulbs when an HID kit is installed it is so bright that it creates glare because its reflecting off of the hi beam portion as well as the low beam portion of the headlight because of the extra light

but in the 04-05s i've noticed most kits dont have as much glare because it is meant for single beams and the reflector doesnt glare as much since it is designed to point down

told u so...i've seen about 5-6 04-05s with HID's and they all had very little glare compared to the 01-03s with HIDs

reason for that is the 04-05 headlights are 9007 or 9006 not sure. but unlike the 01-03, which uses h4, the 04-05 has a separate highbeam housing so the light doesnt reflect off the high beam reflector, thus less glare


did taht make sense?? lol

retrofit means putting an entire hid projector from another factory xenon car (bmw, benz, acura) into your halogen reflector. that way you have the proper beam and optics. instead of just installing hid kit which is just a bulb that fits into the stock halogen reflector and does not work well since the light source and optics are different.
