where exactly do you have to cut the rear of the housing and why?

If you dont cut it, it wont mount where you want it to. This is COMPLETELY dependant on what projector you use. Think of it like this: When you put it in the housing, if it faces straight up almost, you'd take whatever out of the back that you need to make it level, right?

they never did before I painted them. They have a few times since, but come on, if you can figure out how to do this DIY you can figure out how to seal it again.
