Car remore issue

I recently changed the battery on my 2009 remote and now car will not unlock or lock directly from the remote. Has anybody else had this issue? How do I fix this? Thanks

Re: Car remore issue

Does the red light light up on the fob when you push the buttons?

10 minutes ago I took one apart and found someone installed the battery backwards. Doesn't work worth a damn that way.

Re: Car remore issue

Other remote key work correct.

Changing the battery is not the reason.

None of the two remotes I have work. It wont unlock or lock. The car has to be unlocked and locked manually.

Re: Car remore issue

Did it work before you changed the battery? (Probably not, most people wouldn't change the battery if it still works)
When was the last time you know it worked?

Does the other key/fob still work? (or any others that did work)

Next question, which shape is your transmitter insert? See pics:

Re: Car remore issue

The last time it really worked was about a week ago and mine would be the second image you posted up. Both keys work just the transmitters seem not to do anything, but turn on the side markers when trying to lock and unlock the car.

If the parking lights flash when you push buttons, the fobs work.

Did the power locks quit working?

They work from the inside, but not with the remotes. That is the confusing part of it all.

Re: Car remore issue

So you can push the unlock button on a fob and see the parking lights flash on the car, but the power locks won't unlock or lock?

"key in ignition" warning beeper isn't stuck on?

Stick the key in the drivers door and make sure the slot is vertical, not off to one side (partially locked or unlocked)....
I can't think of much else a user can do with it right now...

Next I'd want to see on my scanner what the body control systems are doing, check status of door lock position sensors, that sort of thing. See if the system will command the locks to cycle and see what the fob requests are doing.
