Innova code reader on 04 civic

Got an innova code ready for my 04 civic. And it wont connect to my car. Try 2 different of innova code reader still wont connect. Anybody else have the same problem.?

did you check if the fuse for the obd port is blown?

no i didn't and dnt know the location. Is it on the fuse box.?

apparently its a 10A #9 in the under hood fuse box,
looks like there's alot of different things on that circuit though, so it may not be the fuse. maybe the power wire is broken, or the pins in the connector are damaged.

What DOES the code reader say or do?

There's a huge difference between not powering up, and not being able to communicate with the PCM.


What problem are you trying to chase???
Someone forgot to tighten the alternator bolts, now the PCM is fried and only running in backup mode? Gauges acting weird?

Thats what the code reader is showing
pcm is probably fried then, check your alternator bolts, they're probably loose/stripped out. Did you recently have work done on the car that involved loosening/removing the alternator, or belts?

Yes i have changed the belt when i 1st got the car about 2 months ago and tighten it after a month.

If you want some bathroom reading, search the forum for 'loose alternator bolts' and you might get a hundred threads to look at
