Re: new photography thread How u like the S2000HD mac? I know it's a slightly older version, I have the S1800 which is 12MP, and 18x zoom, which I love Btw, if you had the picture in low aperture, macro mode, it would have looked better unaltered |
Re: new photography thread i like it. it's slow though. shoots good in high light but lags in low light and blures. this one i shot through the display case and zoomed in. that's why you can see the reflection of four hanging lights, that apear in the midle of the cupcakes. kinda look like fantasyesk floating orbs. |
Re: new photography thread hmm, mines not very slow in low light, just boost up the ISO and use a tripod, that's what I do, pictures come out lookin good |
Re: new photography thread mines only 10mp, maybe your's is a better model. i baught it in like 09 and payed 350. it's no d90. i'll try latter. |
Re: new photography thread Yeah, mines slightly newer dam, $350 for a ultrazoom? I paid $149.95 USD for mine |
Re: new photography thread i was playing with the d90 at best bestbuy, that thing is wicked fast. perfectly focused shots almost as fast as you can move your finger, i want one soooo bad! but really don't need it, my buddy has one but he's a photo major. |
Re: new photography thread Isnt D90 like $900+? lol I like it too, but it's a bit too heavy, and i'm not really fond of Nikon's menu system For that price i'd go with the Canon T2i |
Re: new photography thread Yea, the D90 is up there, but Nikon glass is reaaaaaally nice.. and they use a slightly larger sensor compared to it's Canon "counterpart" On the flip side, Canon cameras are more user friendly and you can't really see the image quality differences unless you're zoomed way the eff in. |
Re: new photography thread i'll have to find a Nikon glass to test =D |

Re: new photography thread Yep, I never do more than 200/400 ISO, the noise at 800+ is unbearable I'll only ever use that much if it's worth taking the shot than to miss a shot. IE. A concert |
Re: new photography thread Posted 4 more hdr's... I would have posted more to my set but there is unbelievable amount of noise on the others, even with a super low ISO... gotta figure out what's the deal with that. |
Re: new photography thread The bomber picture looks fantastic! Not so much feeling the boat ramp, and the cloudy road looks decent |
Re: new photography thread 2 Attachment(s) Got bored so I started playing around with the camera again. Only used my 50mm f/1.4 lens A small bottle of Nigori style sake. I hardly ever shoot with an aperture larger than F/2.5, but I wanted to see if I still had a tough time focusing in on my subject with the largest aperture I can go (f/1.4). I think it turned out kinda cool F/1.4, ISO800, 1/125 Shutter speed Attachment 103244 Then, I started playing with reflections. Pulled up the civicforums decal idea I made a little while ago, flipped horizontal and vertical, and used the reflection off my iPhone4. First, f/14.0, ISO1600, Shutter speed @ 1/2 Attachment 103245 Next, went with the large aperture to blur everything out F/1.4, ISO1600, Shutter speed @ 1/60 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...s/IMG_2231.jpg Pics are kinda noisy.. Moreso the 1600ISO ones, but still kinda cool shots. |
Re: new photography thread i like the Nigori style sake shot. here's a close up of a colt i took last year. kinda similar. http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs51/f/20...y_by_Mac25.jpg |
Re: new photography thread Nice work riceboy Mac- what do you shoot with? I just got home from a friends place and noticed the sky looked pretty clear here in Portland so I pulled the camera out. http://bit.ly/hsLgvm This is a small set of stars taken on 12/31/10 that shows their movement over several minutes. It really makes you feel like your spinning in the galaxy. Canon T2i w/ kit lens Exp: 30 sec (60 secs between exposures) F3.5 ISO: 100 |
Re: new photography thread it's an older (like 2009) fujifilm s2000HD 10mp 15x wide zoom it can focus up two 2cm (2/3 of an inch) from the lens baught it new at the time for $350 and love it not as fast as a d90 and you can't change the lens but it does the trick. |
Re: new photography thread |
Re: new photography thread whaaaaaaaaaaa! wicked Triz! that's a cool concept. |
Re: new photography thread an other of mine from last years digital class. http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs43/f/20...ed1ce6445d.jpg |
Re: new photography thread ^exposure is way off on the subject point. Are you shooting in manual mode on that camera, or doing full auto?? Halogen lights are very harsh for lighting without changing the exposure on the camera. Other then that it would be really cool. |
Re: new photography thread The more I shoot, the more I want a 5D Mark II, but at this time in my life I cant afford it, or justify it... I envy its sensor. |
Re: new photography thread the original isn't that high in contrast. but i like making my pictures seem like they'd be inpossible to see in real life. they look really nice in the printed form, more of a rich gold since the print isn't backlight like a screen. but i see what you mean. |
Re: new photography thread 1 Attachment(s) Yeah, what TRIZ said Anyways, TRIZ, dont go overboard on the light smoothing, too much halo Heres me playing with depth of field with my cam F3.1/ISO200/1" Exp/Focal Length 5mm Attachment 103232 |

Yeah, what TRIZ said Anyways, TRIZ, dont go overboard on the light smoothing, too much halo I wish there was a way to do HDR video with only one camera, but I dont think there is- especially at 24fps. I've been watching HBO's Boardwalk Empire, and I'm trying to find out how they do some of their shots that look HDR-like. |
Re: new photography thread 3 Attachment(s) Who cares about HDR video :P Just make cool vids. I watch Videocopilot, freddiew They make really good AfterEffects videos This is my recent photos: Sunset - Was chasing the sun when I saw it go down, Speeding in a 25mph zone XD Attachment 103214 San Francisco bay from afar (high zoom) Attachment 103215 Frozen Grape Juice X Attachment 103216 |
Re: new photography thread I've been sick lately, so I havent been taking a lot of pictures the past two weeks or so. But even tho I'm outta the field, I'm online looking for the next best piece of equipment. If anyone knowns about the LCDVF's for the canon (also works on Nikon) they were priced around 150+ which was a little high for most people. Clones came out around 80 bucks, but then went up to 110 when becoming popular. Guess what, there is a new one out thats back at 60 bucks. link: http://cgi.ebay.com/3-CARRY-SPEED-VF...#ht_8581wt_802 link: http://carryspeed.com/ Reason you might want one of these: A lot of our DSLR cameras are capable of doing 1080p HD video, which make it an HDSLR camera. Unfortunately since the mirror is flipped up in movie mode, the optical viewfinder is rendered useless and you have to use the screen in live-view. In sunny conditions the LCD screen gets washed out and focusing is a bitch. I'd suggested grabbing one of these if your into shooting video with your HDSLR. Rock bottom price. Oh, forgot to mention: There are two different screen sizes, 4x3 and 3x2, so make sure you pick the right screen size. Here is some more info: http://cheesycam.com/best-new-view-f...k-ii-7d-nikon/ |
Re: new photography thread 2 Attachment(s) Just to keep this alive That, and because I thought this looked like the candy cup from charlie and the choco factory Attachment 101834 ISO 64, F3.1, 1/100"; 5mm Attachment 101835 ISO 64, F4.2, 1/50"; 12mm |
Re: new photography thread Damn, your iso can go all the way down to 64? Mine maxes out at 100 I believe. |
Re: new photography thread Yeah, most cameras top off at 100, even high end DSLR's That's the benefit of having a Fuji, lower ISO setting, and easy menu navigation |
Re: new photography thread Nice, and I'm even rocking a Canon T2i... BTW, I just bought parts to build a new computer with a sandybridge intel i7 3.4ghz, so I'll be able to FINALLY edit my video I've been shooting in 1080p! Praise the lord!! |
Re: new photography thread felt the need to share this. Here's the caption I put for this photo in my fb album http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._4220026_n.jpg In UNLV's elementary Japanese course (JPN114), you learn Japanese phrases for real life situations. Case in point, "死なないでください (Shinanaide Kudasai)," meaning, "Please don't die," as portrayed in (a).. Wait, WTF?! |
Re: new photography thread What...the hell O_o WHAT ARE THEY TEACHING U IN JAP? |
Re: new photography thread I'll bite http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._4577086_n.jpg Camera: Canon 7D Lens: 50mm f1.4 Aperture: I believe f22 Shutter: ~0.5s ISO: 100 PS adjustments: Used Lightroom to lower saturation except the green This was a trash the dress model shoot I did last year when the weather was nice (I miss 25 C days!). Concept is that a bride after her wedding day gets into all sorts of places with her wedding dress, and gets pictures out of it |
Re: new photography thread Dude... that's a badass shot. Feel free to post up a lot more in this thread! Oh, and the lens you used is my favorite lens of the ones I own

Re: new photography thread Is it wrong to have a pic of a Mazda3 in the forum? :P I wanna do something like this for my Civic when I find a driver I can trust to drive it http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5305/...b1bbe7d2_z.jpg I believe.... Aperture: f22 Shutter: 0.5s Body: 50D Lens: Sigma 17-70 f2.8-4.5 ISO: 100 |
Re: new photography thread Nah, nothing wrong with that I like pan shots, but hard to take one of your own car =/ |
Re: new photography thread get a really long push button cord to shoot your own car as you drive...??? lol |
Re: new photography thread Or......a remote? LOL But no, u cant, in order to get a panning shot, the photographer has to be riding in a different car, driving at the same exact speed, and taking the shot Can't really do it yourself |

Re: new photography thread me a skyline and integra. we joined an 06 civic hatch, an 08 accord, a nissan 240 and 2000 prelude, for the funest drive of my life! we went on a coastal road with a ton of s curves, hills and dips, loved it. my baby held it ground against the accord and 06 civic, handled better then the 240 and prelude. i'm not quite sure the skline was trying. there weren't many areas to gun it in the straights but when there were my civic did great getting up to speed out of the turns before the next set. http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs71/f/20...25-d3jqeao.jpg |
Re: new photography thread 1 Attachment(s) Time to breathe life into this thread again, with some HDR practicing :D Attachment 100083 |
Re: new photography thread 1 Attachment(s) Hmm, Actually, I found that Nik Software's HDR Efex is a LOT easier to use, and better quality I really hated how photomatix created a bunch of noise, and wasn't exactly WYSIWYG PM me if you guys want to try out this software, it's a plugin for photoshop & The results are amazing Attachment 100082 |
