new photography thread

I'll start it off. Please post what camera you used, and if applicable, which lens you used. If you can remember/find out, what ISO, aperture, exposure, etc.

all my shots were with a Canon Digital Rebel XT with kit lens. the EXIF info can be found by right click saving and then viewing the advanced properties of the image.

Mine, Canon Powershot A95, 1GB Sandisk CF card

Why the pic of the payphone volume control? Don't get me wrong I think it's a really good picture, I just laughed my ass off at the fact that you took a creative picture of the volume button on a payphone.

film grain looks great. i've been wanting to play around with my dad's older canon SLR camera. he's got like 4 lenses for it all with a max aperture of 1.8

shooting on film is fun. i dont even have a digital camera yet. lol i might get one for convenience though...:shrug:

ill still continue shooting the "arty" shots on film however.

I used my mom's A95, 3 MP, 1/60 shutter speed, 2.8 Lens Aperture...

This is my car's hood... also took some from the one's on the roof. Yes, I was bored. It was raining today (has been for the last 5-6 days and will be for the next 4-5...:_disgust:)

The kit lens is okay if you open it up a bit, though its still kinda slow, if you're buying an XT, you won't notice any softness. If you want a good kit lens look at the Nikon D70s, though it costs a bit more. If you go w. the Canon, do yourself a favour and pick up their 50/1.8 for around $150.00 or so, its a great low-light lens, fast as hell at 1.8, and when you open it up past that its sharp as hell. The best thing you can get for the price short of their 50/1.4 or 85/1.8.

I bought the XT a few months ago, so far I'm really enjoying it, though the AF gives me some trouble in low-light conditions sometimes, but I blame that on the erratic lighting (shooting concerts for university newspaper) not on the camera itself. The 75-300 is a good, cheap zoom lens too, a bit slow, but short of an L series, its the best you can do for the price :)

Now these are some of my pics that i took of my old car....AE102 Corolla...it has pics with n without rims cuz i only had them on that car for like 2-3 months then i blew two tires out at once on a back country road over here...front bumper damage is a result of treadless steelies and a jeep grand cherokee....i blew the engine on this car back in april n got my civic but these pics bring back memories cuz i had so much planned for the car...the windshield decal is something my friend made, didnt wanna take it off cuz i didnt wanna get my friend upset bout it cuz he was pretty proud of that sticker...
