are you asking about the brownie pic?

if you are, something tells me you are not, then it would be Orlando, Florida

wow that is a beautiful backround, i heard infinite02 saying "a reflector and/or a fill flash would have worked wonders in that picture."

were you talking about this picture? When is it ok or better to use flash?

(Considering I buy a package like the previous ones posted, which includes two lenses). As for color, I really don't care. It's the same crap inside.

I'm not in a hurry, I just want to know what you guys think. I want to make myself clear before I eventually buy, therefore making the shopping process easier.

Also, another question. In technicaly terms, the 20D is better than the 350D/Digital Rebel XT. Is it really worth the difference?

Thanks!

if i had to choose between the two you posted, i would go for the one with the Lexar 80x 4GB CF card. the lenses in either kit are sub-par (kit lens is alright, but you really have to stop down the lens [bigger numerical f-stop] in order to get some decent sharpness; the canon 75-300 isn't phenominal either, but it's a good consumer zoom up to 200mm; the tamron kit is cheap).

and i would say that the 20d is worth the extra money, but don't jump into this money pit without knowing at least a little bit about what you're getting yourself into.

ruffryde009: yes i was talking about that picture. i said that because there are some dark areas on the subject that could've been better featured if the photographer were to use a flash or reflector to reflect the sun towards the subject. when is it better to use a flash? every time you shoot.

ruffryde009 04-27-2006 10:55 PM

i love these pictures. Does anyone have an idea on how to get ambient color in different colors? for example.

photoshop.

02civic_rida 04-28-2006 08:22 AM

^^^lol

yes, u can go to selective color, or color balance are two that i use.

dirtySAMURAI 04-28-2006 04:15 PM

i would use curves for that one, but color balance would also work.

ok what is that? don't tell me that is a basic tripod with a camera mount...

dirtySAMURAI 04-30-2006 01:22 PM

that's my tripod with manfrotto tripod head and lens mount for the sigma 70-200mm f/2.8. i put my tripod into one of the lower profile positions and took that pic cause i thought it looked cool.

civicstyle82 04-30-2006 04:32 PM

I like that man ^, the vignetting is good, makes your concentrate on the cars.

I understand in reply to what I said earlier, just trying add something.

Vinagretta... I mean, vignetting = Photoshop?

drew22mader 05-01-2006 11:19 PM

Sometimes, sometimes can be caused by the lens hood.

shroomster 05-01-2006 11:23 PM

by hood you mean its cutting the amount of light entering the lens?

drew22mader 05-01-2006 11:51 PM

Yep, sometimes the lens hood will prevent light from entering in, and the center of the image will be brighter, you'll find this alot more on wide angle lens.

How can the hood affect.

drew22mader 05-02-2006 12:34 AM

the hood prevents light from glaring when shooting, sometimes it will not let the right amount of light to get to the lens.

Google it

ruffryde009 05-02-2006 12:41 AM

01civicdriver 05-09-2006 06:34 PM

I've been following this thread for quite some time. my dad is kind of a photographer as a hobby. it started out as him taking pictures of me at football games but then it grew into a full on sports photography hobby. i wsa wondering what you guys think of his Canon EOS mark II-n?

dirtySAMURAI 05-09-2006 06:39 PM

1d mark II n? it's a freaking awesome camera. 8.5 frames per second burst shot. preset color modes for freaking awesome pictures. i'm hoping to be able to afford one of those babies soon. or save up even more for the 1ds mark II. it's full frame and digital!

01civicdriver 05-09-2006 08:31 PM

yeah it is pretty amaizing!!

for some games he rents a fixed 300 lens and can get an awsome shot across the field and over 50 yards away!

if i get a chance i will post some of the pictures he has taken with it. he got it after football but he had it during swimming and during football he had a 20D with optional battery pack. those pictures are still really nice
