Unhappy Check Engine Light Came on

My check engine light came on... Anybody ever had the same problem. If yes, what had caused it to come on. I thing it might be the cat since I hear strange noises everytime the road is wet. And since my car is slammed so much, i always hit the damn thing going over speed bumps. I'm going to the dealer on thursday, i'm afraid they might not cover it with the warantee.... Any advice guys?

If your problem is directly related to something you have modified on your car you will have a hard time getting it covered under warranty.

Good luck though and hopefully its nothing too expensive.

I do have a complete stock exhaust system in my garage. I took it off my car with only 1000kms on it when I put my Magnaflow Cat back on.

If you need to buy one let me know and maybe I can sell it to you instead of the dealership raping you for one.

thanks for the info....
i've changed the whole exhaust system from the cat back with 21/4 piping and magnaflow resonator. So if there is a problem with the cat, i'm thinking of getting a high flow cat. I'm going into the dealer on thursday, i'll see what happen... I mean the car drives perfectly now, nothing's wrong with it... it's just the light

1llmatic will become famous soon enough
when the check engine light came on in my car it was because of the catalytic converter...its covered under warranty for 100 000km.

but since he changed to aftermarket muffler and pipe and resonator
the service advisor(s) might be a **** and say "your car is modified and the exhaust warranty will be void....blah blah blah" and they might not fix the cat under warranty
hope everything works for Terence
good luck man and call me up soemtime to chill

Nah, it should be fine, you should have resetted the ECU (remove ECU fuse for like 10seconds) and see if it comes back on.

It could be your catalatyic converter... i had to replace mine, and the check engine light went out.

My previous problem was the tranny....

Your light WILL COME BACK ON. Wait until its back on, and head straight for the dealership. I bet it's your catalatyic converter.
