Another Check Engine Light ?

Another Check Engine Light ? Two days ago after I started my car, and ever since then my "Check Engine Light" has blinked several more times than usual. While researching some of the posts I noticed someone mentioned it did that every 8,000 and 20,000 mile to let you know you need a standard maintance check. That doesnt make sence though because my mileage is at some random wierd figure thats not close to being divisible by 8,000 or 20,000. I experienced this one other time about 4 months ago, and shortly after it started happening my SRS light came on and I had to get my SRS system replaced. Anyone have any ideas about this. Thanks.

Rep Power: 0 My check engine light came on at a little over 10K. I asked my dealer about it when I went in for another issue. They said the check engine light is only to make sure you are doing the normal maintence. Its only when the service engine soon light comes on that you need to worry. Just reset the lamp. It should be fine. BTW the second time my light came on it was at an arbitrary number too! Close to 20k
