hose wont hold intake pipes together...
...i installed my injen cold air intake today and thought i did everything correctly. So after the install, i went to go test my new mod out and as i revved my car coming up on my street i heard a buzzing noise. I immediately get into my driveway and popped the hood...right then i saw that the hose that was holding the primary and secondary intake pipes together was loose and it came apart
I didn't think anything about it and re-tightened the clamp..... until tonite when i went to seven eleven and while coming back i hear the buzzing again...when i got home i pop the hood once again and
the secondary intake pipe was loose again....my question is if there are any ways to secure this because its starting to **** me off....thanks in advance.

Did you bolt down the lower section tight enough? I just checked my CAI last night and everything was nice and secure. But of course the clamps won't hold the lower section on if there's play there. Plus the filter end of my lower section is really wedged between the bumper and wheelwell (more so by the rubber hose I got in there) so it doesn't move at all.
never heard of this happening before. i have a cai from aem and i've never had a problem with it.
it could be shaking loose. in which case, i guess you could try realigning the whole assembly (loosen bolts, move pipes into place, then tighten the bolts again). or you could have pressure building up inside the pipes (not sure how that would happen); in which case i'm not sure if there is anything else you could do other than tightening the hose-clamps (which you already tried). if the problem persists, i would just contact injen and ask for a new sleeve. if the new one doesn't work, contact them again and request a replacement cai.

I have a buddy with an Injen Cai on his car, not a 2k1, but he had the same problem. What he did, was take a metal punch, with a large flat end, and punched out the area near the end of the metal tubes, where the hose clamp goes, so that when you tighten the hose clamp, if it were to slip off again, it would have to go over those bumps. But if the clamp tightened enough it can't slip over the end. He said it worked for him, no more problems. Does that make any sense, or can I just not explain things?
