Upgrading to larger brakes but keeping 16 in rim size

Hi

I'm looking for an easy gain in braking power as I drive my LX on the freeway and speeds can go from 75 to abruptly 20 mph.

I researched online that the Acura RSX 06 has 282mm rotors which are larger than my 262 LX rotors and I want to upgrade to those. I read that I just need the RSX caliper bracket to make the larger brake pad fit on the larger rotor however, I can't seem to find a caliper bracket that fits the pads.

I purchased akebono ACT 621A pads and 14-1435 caliper bracket but the pads wont fit inside the bracket. They fit without the shims, but not when the shims are in place.
Today I had the wheel off and noticed these akebono pads are almost the same thing as my original pads, the only difference is its slightly wider by a 16th of an inch which makes me think these pads are not correct.
Also, when I put the pads on the 282mm rotor, I see they dont bite the full rotor, meaning some of the rotor is exposed.

Does anyone know where I can find the right caliper bracket and pads that will fit?

Also, does anyone know if everything will clear inside a 16in rim with the 282mm setup?

Thanks
