Hello I have a 2005 Honda Civic 1.7L with 170K miles. In the last two months it has eight to ten times stumbled at idle and twice actually died but restarted without any issue, there are no stored or pending fault codes present. If I rev the engine up a little the stumble goes away and drives completely fine even under heavy acceleration. I noticed the dash lights will flicker ever so slightly during the stumble, the battery light only comes on once it is stumbling, the first two times I noticed the parking brake and ABS light came on during the stumble, but no fault codes. The fault occurs randomly but only at idle in drive, I have not been able to duplicate the fault to determine what the issue is. About two years ago when I replaced the head gasket the alternator output stud broke and I bought a cheap cheap amazon alternator since I needed it shipped overnight. I have kept up on maintenance including oil changes, spark plugs, timing belt, air filter, throttle cleaning, about 30K ago I checked the valve clearance. In my professional opinion it feels like a electrical issue, not engine or fuel related.
I am going to pull the idle control valve next week when I have time and check it, but if it looks good I am leaning toward the cheap alternator starting to fail but wanted others thoughts.

get an OE alternator from a junkyard and test
