Question D17A2 oil pump seal gap

I purchased a CD on R. A. that was produced by Dave Graham that was a Honda Authorized service manual and it’s been pretty good in most respects but left out an important section and that was the oil pump overhaul. In that section the oil seal installation is addressed. If you are familiar with the rear main seal installation there is a special installation tool used to install the crankshaft seal in the rear cover assembly. When I it bottoms out there should be a gap between .020-.030 and you are instructed to check that with feeler gauges.

My question:
is there a similar gap that should be maintained after seating the oil pump seal, or is it supposed to be completely inserted into the seat of the oil pump?
