Hello everyone,

I have a 2004 Honda Civic EX D17A2.

I am trying to replace the oil pump o ring because I have a nasty oil leak.

So far, I’ve gotten the timing belt off TDC and the oil pan as well. I saw 5 bolts holding the oil pump on. I removed the oil screen as well.

I can’t figure out how to take the oil pump off.
It seems to be all one piece and I don’t see an area to pry it.

What am I doing wrong?

Upon further inspection I was able to see it was in fact two separate pieces. I pried from below and it undid the seal between the engine and the pump.

Yep, you got it. Oil pump is "glued" on with Hondabond and has to be persuaded.
