I've got a 95 Civic Coupe DX with a B18B1 full LS swap. It's got I/H/E and when ran harder you can smell exhaust fumes inside the car. I'm stumped on the name of the part I would need to seal off the bottom of the shifter so it cannot get inside the car. Help, please!
Re: Exhaust Fumes Inside Cabin
Just find the leak and fix it in the exhaust system, you're probably just smelling the exhaust through the interior vents.
If you hear any small, putting sounds by the header/down pipe try holding your hand near then and trying to feel for exhaust gas leaking out. (do not touch the exhaust system directly, obviously. just hold your hand an inch away from it).
If you can not feel any take it to an exhaust shop and get them to jack it up and look for leaks.

If you smell it, it's coming from exhaust leaks. Fix the leaks. Exhaust is supposed to get all the way from the engine to the tailpipe without leaking out anywhere along the way.
And the air leaks through the shifter area: Seems like there should have been a large rubber boot to seal between the floor and the shifter.

It's not that simple to completely fix the leak it has. It's got a retro fitted Integra header and test pipe to a EJ2 catback. It's not as simple as you're saying it is.
Re: Exhaust Fumes Inside Cabin
OP it is simple to fix.
You are talking about a steal tube with a hole in it.
Either, pull the exhaust system off yourself and weld it, tighten a loose clamp or use exhaust tape...
or
pay a shop to do the same.

I hear the putt-putt/backfire-ish sounds, but my exhaust pipe has split in half and has the exhaust tape. It's LOUD. I also have power reduction.
I think I'm fine up where the exhaust manifold (header?) Bolts on to the head, even though I did snap the head off one of those bolts, should be pretty simple to get out with the right tool, one day.. but from there? .. all loose/holes.
Not to threadjack, but, the exhaust tape may be giving way. The prime thing for an exhaust for me is the sound it makes. I want a low, rumble sound.. one that will make car thieves consider wanting to steal my car, as much as I hate to say it. (Loud radios, anything that looks or sounds good, and a thief will notice your car. Be aware of your surroundings and PEOPLE WATCHING YOUR CAR or FOLLOWING YOU. If you see the same car three times or more, it's a problem, and be suspicious of those you see a second time.. since every car you see is first time..
