Part number for exhaust gasket 1994 dx hatchie
Front pipe where it drops down from O2 sensor and manifold, is that just a circular gasket? Part number?AND is that the old gasket at the end of the front pipe where it meets the cat, and how do I remove it if so? Thank you!!!

Shiny crap is the old gasket. Take it off by any means you wish.

i tried to put the new gasket over what was there (looked rusty-ish metally) so now it is shiny. Q: do I scrape it down so that the donut gasket fits over it snugly? in other words, was there a lot of the old gasket left on there from before? do i scrape down to the pipe diameter? thanks!

got it off - new gasket on but it leaks! ugh. it was shiny metal flaky looking - did i overtighten it? bad gasket?? 31357 was part #
OEM is 18229-SH3-X30
but it is $18 vs 12...worth it??! ugh!
