Pausing iPod in 2014 Civic EX
Pausing iPod in 2014 Civic EX
I just bought a 2014 Civic EX a few weeks back. It has the 7-inch audio display.
I connect my iPod through the USB in the armrest and it plays fine.
(FYI, while connected, the controls of the iPod are locked out.)
I needed to pause playback the other day and realized that I did not know how to do that.
I looked through all the control and looked at the user's manual and it appears that there is no way to pause playback.
IS there a way to pause iPod playback?

Does the ipod pause if you change the source selection, like switch radio to FM or something using the center button on the left of the steering wheel?
I don't have any answers, I don't mess with audio or phone stuff hardly at all.
If nothing is mentioned in your owners manual......
You might check the Honda website and/or contact customer service and see if they know of anything that isn't in the owners manual.

If I change the source, the iPod stops where it is. That is the only way I've found to stop it so far. The iPod will pick up where it left off when I go back to the iPod as the source.
Another weird thing. Let's say that I am playing something on a USB (a large podcast, for example) and turn the car off. When I return, the podcast starts at a different point in time. A real example is this. I wrote down where I was in the podcast when I turned the car off (41:53). When I got back in, it started at 20:17. I then have to fast forward to 41:53. And fast forwarding with the touch screen is painful.
The screen SHOULD provide a lot of capabilities for controlling an iPod or other digital music (or even CDs). It does not. It is a very unimpressive system and I regret not getting the base radio with the car. It looks like that have more capabilities than the touch screen.
