Camshaft Seal

Does anyone know of a "how to" for changing the camshaft seal? I have a Hanes manual but it only refers to replacing the camshaft itself. I just want to replace the seal because I believe that it is leaking oil.

Its a very small leak and its not enough to make the oil level go down. However it is enough to get all over the engine and make spots on my driveway.

It's a 2001 LX btw.

Re: Camshaft Seal

Just pop it off with a small flat head screw driver, and pop the new one in.

Re: Camshaft Seal

You have to remove the timing belt for that. How do you know it is the cam seal? Would be difficult to know if it was from there since it is all covered up. Where on the engine is it showing up?

toucansam, there's two ends in the cam. He is asking about the easy one, not the hard one behind the cam gear
