cooling system

i recently bought an 02 civic and i'm having a cooling issue. here it goes i noticed the temp guage climbing on a drive so i assumed it was the thermostat so i flushed the cooling system replaced the thermostat filled the cooling system put the cap on loosley ran the motor at 1500rpm until cooling fans kicked on twice then filled radiator rest of the way and filled reservoir to minimum line my temp gauge starts to climb after 40 min of driving upon inspection the system seems to be pushing the coolant into the reservoir to the point that it overflows out of the reservoir

Re: cooling system

you prob have air bubbles in your system. park on a hill facing upward and let the car run. the steeper the better.

and when you changed your thermostat, did you use OEM or aftermarket. always use oem...

you should have changed the gasket as well when you changed the thermostat

Re: cooling system

Pull the rad cap and run the engine until it gets "hot".
Are there air burps/bubbles in the radiator?
