Rounded AND Stuck oil drain plug
Rounded AND Stuck oil drain plug
So the g/f took her Honda to a friend of hers who was out of work, figured he could use the money. He used the wrong socket and possibly also turned the bolt in the wrong direction, so this thing is almost completely rounded.
Here are the things I will try, in order of attempt, lease invasive/destructive first.
Here's my worry: When i finally get the bolt off, if the threads are done-for, i'm totally screwed. The car will sit until we can get a new oil pan, which could be a while
Can I just drill and tap a hole on the bottom of the pan? I'll leave the old plug there till the end of time and just use the new hole from that point on.
Also tihis is my g/f's input:

- Pipe wrench
- Bolt extractor
- Grind some flats for an open end wrench. (problem here is it may only buy 90 degree of turn, but that should be enough to crack it loose.)
- Weld a nut on top.
