Whats a B-Pipe?

I feel pretty stupid for asking this, even though i'm platinum doesn't mean i know everything, anyways help me out guys, anyways when i went to go get my custom piping thats all i asked for, but someone commented what about your "b-pipe" i was like wtf is that? then they commented the sound of my car might not be the sound i was looking for because i didn't do my b-pipe as well.........

ok just to straighten things out, "cat-back" thats basically slang for mid-pipe running fromt he cat-back to the muffler correct?
and b-pipe? what the heck is that?

me thinks the b-pipe is the pipe section that goes from the exhaust manifold to the cat converter. The ex has this, the LX does not.

This is the most informative one yet, ignore the other 2 if you want too.

It's the section of piping from the catalytic converter back to the muffler. On our cars it contains the resonator.

Cat-back is just slang for a catalytic-back setup, meaning that you can keep your stock catalytic converter to remain street legal. Usually they consits of a B-pipe, a muffler, and maybe a few smaller pipes for connection reasons.

custom piping would just be a layout that no one else has. Yes, it would consist of a B-pipe and a muffler. The B-pipe, however, is not purchased from DCSports or someone like that, it is made by a shop out of tubing and a mandrel bending machine.

Short Answer: Yes, you should have a new B-pipe (that's what got custom made I assume) since that and the muffler are the only thing that would change on our cars with a new exhaust.
