I have a 04 civic non-V-tec. What is the probable cause of this? Thank you for your help.

Re: Sticky gas pedal

either the mechanism behind the gas pedal needs lube, or the throttle cable is getting stuck in the engine compartment due to grime and dirt on it. get some silicone and spray behind the gas pedal on the moving parts (be sure to wrap a towel around the pedal so the spray does not get on it, or it will be very slippery). then spray the exposed part of the cable near the throttle body. it could also be grime inside the throttle body causing the throttle plate to stick.
