Re: lower my civic? yes? no?

Why would you need coilovers?

A set of decent quality struts, shorter springs and a rear camber kit is all you'll need. The shorter the spring and the higher the spring rate you choose the more rough and aggressive the ride will be, if you want something that doesn't sacrficie to much ride quality check out tein springs.

Full coilovers are a higher end option, if you want to go extremely low or need serious performance then they are what you'd need to look into.

The factory HFP suspension will lower the car, as will the eibach or similar performance aftermarket springs available.
No need for coilovers- but they would be the best bet in ride height control for you.

Re: lower my civic? yes? no?

its a factory addon that replaces the parts on the car now. if you dont mind a harsher and stiffer ride, then lowering should be fine for you. i wouldnt go more than an inch lower tho, which is what the hfp suspension does. the lower you go, the rougher the ride and the more suspension parts you will break by putting more stress on the parts. and always get a camber kit to properly align the car once lowered.

^ This.

Another route you could go is bigger wheels and lower profile tires. This option really does wonders in making them sit lower without sacrificing much of the ride.
