2.25 or 2.50 PIPING?????????????????
i see that mostly everyone here has 2.25 in. piping in their cars...but my firend suggest that i should get 2.5 what do you guys think? oh yeh and are you guys using your stock cat? where can i get just a dc cat?
i first had 2.5 and i wish i never would have got it that big. No back pressure at all. It slows you down. Get 2.25!! As for muffler i would get the ApexI universel. the cheaper the muffler the more its going to sound like ****.
I'd try 2". Then 2.25" or bigger after the muffler. It's unfortunate that the companies making exhausts for our NA cars insist on using such larger diameter piping. It may help the high, high end but the low end definitely suffers big time.
Just my 2 cents.

I would go with the stock size whatever that is. I think it is possible that 2.25 may be too big for the vic. The stock ex pipes are fine, just need a high-flow muffler. I have the magnaflow catback and I think it is 2.25.

There is actually a very good article in "Street Tuner"...or SCC...well either about exhaust misconceptions on diameter with dyno results to prove and backup theories on HP and Torque gains or losses for a variety of cars and liter.....!

Yes, agreed avenger....2" piping........and to just add to the link thread.....for veloicity exhaust ........the formula Q(flow)= Velocity X Area...so solving for Area you see that the smaller your area the faster the velocity with a constant flow ....imagine this....turn on your water house to wash your car..and place your thumb over the end..the velocity of the water speeds up due to decrease area of the discharge end with the same flow of water....anyway....your not the **** avenger!!!!!LOL
