dyno testing

Wondered if anyone could explain how they dyno tested there civic or other vehicle.........Tried testing my 2001 civic coupe today and wasn't very successful.....could be the equipment or how I tested it???

Tried to test using speed limiting....set speed limiter on the dyno to 45 mph then tested in third gear...only peaked at 5500 rpm or so .........with about 65hp at the wheels.....also tried at 25mph in second gear and was about the same 58hp.......

Think I might be doing this wrong.......

You have to be able to have the motor scream all the way to redline man.
