Exclamation Check engine light

I have a 2011civic Si and I just installed an intake AEM but today I got my CEL and I'm wondering why. Is there a way to get codes or something to figure what the problem is.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Check engine light

more than likely a MAF sensor error code. some intakes do not locate the maf (mass airflow sensor) in the proper position and if the air is not smooth enough it can cause the sensor to throw erratic readings which causes issues with the way the engine runs. either that or you forgot to plug a sensor in after the install. you can get the code from most auto stores for free.

Re: Check engine light

Hopefully you were careful with your MAF when you removed it then installed it on the AEM. I mean of course you didn't drop it in a pan of oil after tripping on the box it came in, but if you did, or if the filter had to much oil from the filter on it just clean it with some Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner. It's very specific with cleaning the MAF, because its particular about what you use. Or just a vac line, either not connected or even slightly kinked disrupting the airflow. Another thing to do is pull the negative cable drain the power in the car, then retrain the idle. Autozone will pull your codes for free.

Just in case you don't know what they're talking about, it's #15 and goes in that hole in the air box: http://www.hondapartscheap.com/south...t=0&quantity=0
