Quick question before lunch.
Quick question before lunch.
If I am starting to leak a little oil form the bottom end. Is it difficult to chance the oil pan gasket with out taking the motor out. If its going to be hard, Ima just take the engine out and redo the entire bottom end. But Id rather just fix the leak as of now.
also, I am getting a stage 2 cam that is in a head already. Is that not smart to use a diff head, that has a stage 2 cam, or no different than any head swap. didnt know if maybe the previous engines compression could have messed it up, or putting it on my engine w/ its compression. Do something.
I just dont want to take the cam out of that head & have to reset it.

Re: Quick question before lunch.
As for your first question, you dont need to remove the engine to fix a leak, be it an oil pan gasket, crankseal (unlikly) or rear main seal. I suppose it depends where the actual leak is coming from...but still.
Re: Quick question before lunch.
Alright cool, I never changed one on a 4cyl before, Only Chevy small blocks, Which 90% of them need to be pulled, or at least motor mounts broken loose. Gonna just get a new oil pan & Gasket, I have bottomed out quiet a few times, May have warped the pan a little. Which yeah, the oil is coming from the side of the pan, no where else.
