07 Rear drum cover removal
07 Rear drum cover removal
Long time vw guy, needing some help with my gf's civic.
Her passenger rear brake is making a god awful noise in reverse and squealing when brakes are applied in drive. I'm going over to her house to take cover off the drum and see what the issue is. It sounds way too bad to be just a shoe. So I have no idea what to expect. What I need help with is how to get the cover off. I found this diy https://www.civicforums.com/forums/4...placement.html but since it is for a 7th gen, will it work for her 8th?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: 07 Rear drum cover removal
I'm not totally certain but it SHOULD be fairly similar. You can use that as a pretty good reference on getting the job done. The rest should be common sense. The trick is to take apart one side at a time, that way you have the other side as a reference when you go to put everything back together.
Re: 07 Rear drum cover removal
Thanks man. I don't plan on taking anything apart, just pulling the cover off to see if i can find out whats going on. Honestly to me, it sounds like something in there failed, like a spring or something, not just a worn shoe. Once i figure it out then I'll tackle getting it fixed. She can drive my car for a few days if it's something serious.
