Air Conditioner Transplant for 1980 Civic

Another question about this car.... I want to install air conditioning, but needless to say OEM parts are not available. However, I can pick up a complete used system from any of the local junkyards for as little as $50. I was wondering what A/C components from later Hondas (or other makes) would be closest in size to fit this vehicle. The most important part is the evaporator... is has to be small enough to mount under the dash. I know this will be a challenge so I want to get some advice before I even begin.
Thanks.

Any luck on that A/C transplant I have the same car and I thought about adding air on mine too. I am trying to get it running first, if you know of a good place to order parts for a 2nd gen I sure do need a few.

No luck yet, haven't gotten any advice but I hope to head out to the junkyard next week and see what I can find.
As for parts for your car, these can be tough to find. There are aftermarket replacements for most common things (clutch, brake components, etc) available on Ebay or aftermarket dealers, and Honda might still carry the odd OEM part. Your best bet is to find a junker for parts, sometimes these pop up on Kijiji or Craigslist.
It's a shame these cars are so underappreciated. Maybe if one was featured in a hit movie, it would bring some much-needed recognition.

Yeah,

I remember seeing one just like mine awhile back parked by a friends shop I need to see if I can find out what happened to it and see if it's for sale for parts. Good luck and if there is anything in particular you need let me know and I will keep an eye out for it. The only major thing I need right now is the drivers headlight trim ring.
